With the release of Robert Parker’s in-bottle scores for the
Bordeaux 2010s rapidly approaching, the vintage is starting to attract more
interest in the market. As shown below, trade has reached a nine-month high.
As usual, interest in any vintage is strongest during its En
Primeur campaign. Parker deemed the 2010 one of the “greatest Bordeaux vintages
I have tasted in my career”, yet with prices so high on release trade since has
been muted. The vintage has failed to match its predecessor, trading around 50%
of the value that the 2009s
experienced in the same period last year.
It remains to be seen whether demand for the 2010s further picks
up once Parker has passed judgement – and which wines see the action. So far,
Grand Puy Lacoste (LWIN 1010787) and Pontet Canet 2010
(LWIN 1014307) – more affordable than many and well
reviewed – have traded the most.
