Wine Spectator reviews Bordeaux 2009

By February 29, 2012Fine Wine Market

James Molesworth of Wine Spectator has added his chapter of tasting notes to the Bordeaux 2009 story. Molesworth's in-bottle scores are more reserved than those of former colleague James Suckling, who awarded nine wines 100 points and described 2009 as "the best modern vintage ever". According to Wine Spectator, the vintage is "stunning…a superb year", but it will "face stiff competition from the 2010s".

The table below shows the critics' top scorers. For Molesworth, Latour and Petrus were the stand-out wines, though neither received a perfect score. It may be worth noting, however, that Molesworth is typically more conservative than Suckling and Parker.
