This week’s movers and makers

By October 14, 2011Fine Wine Market

Reduced 2008 prices tempted traders this week and saw Lafite and Mouton account for over a third of exchange turnover – making them the most traded brands on Liv-ex (in value terms). As you can see from the table below, Margaux takes third place, whilst DRC breaks up Bordeaux's monopoly.

Most traded brands

As well as the usual assemblage of Left-Bank Crus Classes, Cheval Blanc makes this week's movers board and features in the top five for the second Friday running. The 2003 in particular pushed the right buttons, having traded on Liv-ex at an all-time high of £3,500 per 12x75cl case on Thursday. (Cellar Watch Platinum subscribers can view the 2003's trading history here.)  The 2001 also garnered attention and reached a new high of £3,100.
