The Liv-ex membership enables you to buy and sell with over 550 wine businesses around the world, yet we act as the single point of contact on the other side of every deal – moving wine from seller to buyer, and handling all paperwork and payments along the way.

Wine Transportation

Liv-ex moves wine from seller to buyer securely and efficiently with our specialist transportation service.

  • We collect from sellers
  • Hold the stock in one of our warehouses
  • Then deliver to the buyer once approvals are complete

Verification

Liv-ex holds the wine between seller and buyer in our state-of-the-art warehouse facilities, where we carry out authentication and verification checks.

  • Our staff receive regular authentication training
  • We have developed a bespoke algorithm to assess risk, ensuring appropriate checks are carried out
  • Bottles are removed from cases and photographed
  • Labels are examined under ultraviolet light to identify anti-counterfeiting features

Seamless Transactions

Every sale is carried out anonymously and Liv-ex handles all payments and logistics so you only ever deal with us.

  • We collect wine from the seller and pay them as soon as the wine has been verified
  • Once the buyer has paid Liv-ex, and the wine has been verified we move the wine to their account

Full Trade Resolution

We handle any issues that arise during the process, providing support and resolution to achieve frictionless execution of trades.

The Process

Wine is sold on Liv-ex
Once a sale is made through a matched bid and offer, the deal is confirmed.
Wine is delivered to Liv-ex
The wine is moved to one of Liv-ex’s warehouses, either directly or collected by us.
Wine is verified & seller is paid
Cases flagged by our unique algorithm are opened, inspected, and photographed by our experts.
Wine is moved to buyers’ account
Once verified, the buyer is invoiced, and the wine is made available to them – typically within 30 days under the Standard-in-Bond contract.
