  • Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 2023 has been released at £1,644 per 12×75.
  • Neal Martin awarded the ‘powerful’ wine a barrel range of 91-93 points.
  • While the 2023 vintage is one of the best value on the market, the 2020 also presents a good option for buyers.

As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 2023 has been released at €132 per bottle ex-négociant, down 26.7% on the 2022 release (€180 per bottle)

It is being offered by the international trade for £1,644 per 12×75, a 25.1% decrease on the 2022’s opening price (£2,196 a case).

The 2023 price makes today’s release one of the lowest available vintages on the market. Buyers looking for more options may be interested in the 2020 and the 2021.

Critical Response

Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux) scored the wine 94 points highlighting that ‘you can expect plenty of black chocolate, damson, black cherry, signature cocoa bean, espresso and salted cracker’.

William Kelley (The Wine Advocate) praised the wine’s ‘penetrating finish’ scoring it 91-93 points.
